Courtney Ford
Director of Golf
Co-General Manager

Courtney comes to us from Michigan where he grew up playing all sports though he ultimately decided on a career in golf. He attended and graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University and has worked all over the country from Arizona to Georgia in all types of golf facilities, both public and private. He settled in Huntersville with his wife Carol back in 1998 and first worked at River Run Country Club for 5 1/2 years before signing on with NorthStone Country Club in 2004. Carol gave birth to their daughter, Claire, in 2008, and she and Courtney look forward to having her grow up in the country club setting and enjoying all that NorthStone Country Club has to offer. Courtney now oversees the Golf, Tennis, and Fitness departments and is one of the General Managers at the Club.

Jim Grill
Director of Food & Beverage
Co-General Manager

Jim began working at NorthStone in 2006 after spending time at it's sister club, Four Bridges, in Cincinnati. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jim spent six years in the United States Marines before starting with Rare Hospitality where he was a general manager for 14 years. He enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time outdoors in his spare time. Jim is one of the General Managers of NorthStone and oversees all clubhouse matters, the pool, and Food & Beverage Department.

Darrin Spierings
Golf Course Superintendent

Darrin was born in Sheffield, Ohio and graduated from OSU-ATI in Wooster, Ohio in 1986. He and his wife of 27 years have an 11 year old daughter, Alexis. He enjoys playing golf, riding motorcycles, being outdoors, and spending time with friends in his free time.

Steve Foster

Kelsey Young
Membership Director

Following four years at UNC-Chapel Hill, Steve began a 12 year career in restaurant management, including more than 10 years as General Manager for upper mid-scale steakhouse restaurants in Ohio and North Carolina. Seeking a “career reboot”, Steve returned to school at UNC-Charlotte, where he earned degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Following graduation, he joined Southern Cabinet Company in 2003 as Vice President of Operations and CFO, a role he held for more than seven years. Steve’s most recent experience prior to joining the team at NorthStone was as Vice President of Operations and Finance for BreakFront Software in Charlotte, NC, a role he held for four years and in which he lead the financial, development, and support teams for a niche cloud-based software provider.
Away from the club, Steve enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Tiffanie and his four children as well as coaching travel fastpitch softball for the Charlotte Starz, a non-profit organization for which he also serves as President.

A native of Ashburn, Virginia, a Washington D.C. suburb, Kelsey now considers Charlotte home after living here for four years. Kelsey graduated from West Virginia University in 2013 with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Advertising. She comes to NorthStone after spending four years with the Charlotte Checkers as a Group Sales Coordinator and Director of Charitable and Community Programs. Kelsey loves to spend time with her fiance and their Black Lab, Petty (named after the one and only Richard Petty), exploring Charlotte, being active in the community and attending (tailgating) sporting events. You can always find her passionately cheering for her WVU Mountaineers and her fiance's NC State Wolfpack...only if they aren't a threat to her Mountaineers.

Lindsey Davis
Member Relations & Marketing Director

Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Lindsey moved to Charlotte in 2015. Prior to NorthStone, Lindsey served as the Catering & Events Manager at Queen City Q and the Membership Sales Director of the JCC of the Greater Washington Area.  Lindsey studied Hospitality Management at East Carolina University.  When not at work, she enjoys live music and the local craft brewery scene.

Kevin Kunstmann
Fitness Director

Tracey Barry
Food and Beverage Manager

Originally from Rhode Island, Kevin left the cold New England winters to study at the University of Arizona. He was always active and involved in sports so it was natural for him to find a career path in fitness. Kevin and his family have lived in Charlotte for 5 years now, after moving from Sarasota, Florida. He has been a professional in the fitness/wellness field for over 10 years and has a true passion for training and helping people reach their fitness goals. Kevin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a certified USA Weightlifting coach, and CPR/AED certified. He has worked with a wide variety of clients including men, women, youth, and athletes of all levels. Some of his specialties include strength gains, power development, full body circuit training, and high intensity interval training.

From Northern Michigan, Tracey moved to Naples Florida in 2002. Tracey fell in love with the food and beverage industry during her time in Naples. In Naples, Tracey worked at Bay Colony Golf Club and Glen Eagle golf and Country Club. Tracey moved to Huntersville in 2015 with her boyfriend. She worked at Trump National Golf Club in Mooresville, North Carolina before joining the NorthStone Team. Tracey loves to golf and try out new courses all over. She also has a passion for hiking and spending time with her boyfriend and their dog, Tanner.

Mark Hofstetter
Head Golf Profesional

 Mark is originally from Orange, California and has been married to his wife Tracy for 32 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Mark took up golf in 8th grade and was hooked. He played all four years of high school and played on a four year scholarship at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he was a two time all American. After college, he played professionally for two years on mini tours. He has a career low round of 60!

Mark began working on the club side of golf in 1985 and became a Class A PGA Professional in 1990. He is a member of the quarter century club. Prior to NorthStone, Mark was the Director of Golf at River Run for 7 ½ years, the General Manager at Crowfield Golf and Country Club in Charleston, the Head Professional at Pine Island Country Club for 7 years, and he’s been teaching at the Golf Studio at NorthStone for the last year.

Joe Glass

Joe Glass joined the NorthStone Golf team in January 2016. He brings 11 years of experience and education. Joe started his career in the Golf industry at Bears Paw Country Club in Naples, Florida. Joe’s favorite part about being a Golf Professional is teaching. In his free time, Joe likes to travel and play different courses.

Born and raised in Warwick, NY (no, not upstate NY), Mike later moved to North Carolina. He attended Methodist University where he graduated with a degree in Marketing and a concentration in Professional Golf Management. Moving all over the state of North Carolina, Mike has worked at clubs of all types, from small 18 hole facilities to 81 hole facilities. Mike is TPI Golf 2 Certified, which focuses on creating better body movement and pain free golf. When not on the golf course Mike loves to watch baseball, hockey and football. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, their two dogs and cat.

Rodrigo Cagide
Tennis Professional

Rodrigo was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and finished first in both singles and doubles in 1986. He represented Mexico at the Junior US Open, the Junior Davis Cup, and the Orange Ball Tennis Tournaments. He played for Campbell University on a double tennis and soccer scholarship. He finished his four years at Campbell with a 24-0 singles record and a 23-1 doubles record at the Big South Conference. Prior to joining us at NorthStone, Rodrigo was the Tennis Director at the Point Lake & Golf Club in Mooresville from 1999-2013.

Tanner Haddon
Tennis Professional

Tanner Haddon comes to NorthStone after a successful career at top clubs in the south including the Peninsula Club, Olde Providence Racquet Club, and Forsythe Country Club.   Tanner played Division I tennis at UNC Greensboro following a junior career as a top 20 player in USTA/Southern. He was a part of the 2011 5.5 National Championship team.   He currently resides in Cornelius and enjoys spending time with his family and his dog.

Betty began working at NorthStone in 2006 after spending several years at Cramer Mountain Country Club. A native of Charlotte, she loves visiting Lake Lure, going to the mountains, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carlos Garcia

Carlos joined the NorthStone staff after working for 16 years at Harbor Ridge Country Club in Palm City, Florida. Originally from Querertaro, Mexico, Carlos enjoys working out, watching and playing soccer, fishing, and spending time with his family. He particularly enjoys cooking French food.
