Courtney comes to us from Michigan where he grew up playing all sports though he ultimately decided on a career in golf. He attended and graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University and has worked all over the country from Arizona to Georgia in all types of golf facilities, both public and private. He settled in Huntersville with his wife Carol back in 1998 and first worked at River Run Country Club for 5 1/2 years before signing on with NorthStone Country Club in 2004. Carol gave birth to their daughter, Claire, in 2008, and she and Courtney look forward to having her grow up in the country club setting and enjoying all that NorthStone Country Club has to offer. Courtney now oversees the Golf, Tennis, and Fitness departments and is one of the General Managers at the Club.

Steve Foster

Following four years at UNC-Chapel Hill, Steve began a 12 year career in restaurant management, including more than 10 years as General Manager for upper mid-scale steakhouse restaurants in Ohio and North Carolina. Seeking a “career reboot”, Steve returned to school at UNC-Charlotte, where he earned degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Following graduation, he joined Southern Cabinet Company in 2003 as Vice President of Operations and CFO, a role he held for more than seven years. Steve’s most recent experience prior to joining the team at NorthStone was as Vice President of Operations and Finance for BreakFront Software in Charlotte, NC, a role he held for four years and in which he led the financial, development, and support teams for a niche cloud-based software provider.Away from the club, Steve enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Tiffanie and his four children. The former president and coach of the Charlotte Starz travel softball organization is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.

Diane Consavage
Director of Food & Beverage |
Diane is a 2004 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York. She quickly made her way through some of New York’s iconic restaurants, honing her craft and growing her passion for food. In search of new personal and professional growth opportunities, Diane made the subtle shift from free-standing restaurants to the private club space, a niche she came to love. She took advantage of the opportunity to work under renowned chefs Joeseph Albertelli and Jerry Ford, CMC, at Westchester Country Club in her role as Chef of the Beach Club Restaurant for three seasons. This experience provided the early foundation on which Diane’s leadership skills have been cultivated, propelling her to continued success in other top clubs in Westchester County. She is proud to have had the opportunity to work at Winged Foot Golf Club as well as Sleepy Hollow Country Club, collaborating with some of the most talented chefs in the industry while embracing culinary creativity and a team-oriented culture.
In 2021, Diane made the decision to relocate to North Carolina to take advantage of the warmer climate while also tapping into Charlotte’s growing food culture. She is excited about the opportunity to join the NorthStone team and looks forward to continuing many of the great programs that have made the Club so successful through the years while also introducing some new, interactive events to the Club. Away from work, Diane loves spending time with her Huskey pups, Riley and Raiden, and tackling home improvement projects.

Darrin was born in Sheffield, Ohio and graduated from OSU-ATI in Wooster, Ohio in 1986. He and his wife of 27 years have an 11 year old daughter, Alexis. He enjoys playing golf, riding motorcycles, being outdoors, and spending time with friends in his free time.

Kirsten Combs
Membership & Marketing Director |
Kirsten was born in Illinois, and though she’s lived in several states since, she maintains a deep love for all things Chicago to this day – particularly the Blackhawks, the Bears and blues music.
Kirsten has worked in hospitality in one aspect or another for over 20 years. She’s done everything from driving the beverage cart and bartending at Atlanta National Golf Club, to opening and managing Resort Spas (including, and most proudly, the Spa at Ballantyne Resort), to managing boats at Kings Point Marina. Most recently, Kirsten was the Membership and Marketing Director at Cabarrus Country Club.
When she’s not practicing/perfecting the art of customer service, she enjoys music, traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband and two dogs.

Angela Russo

Angela was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC, where her family still resides, so “southern hospitality” is a congenital part of her nature by default. Moving to the LKN area in 2003, she helped open and worked at The North Harbor Club for 3 years. In the 20+ years since, Angela has gone on to lead a successful career as an Operating Partner, General Manager as well a Marketing & Events Manager. This path has led her to work with top industry culinary professionals and hospitality groups along the eastern seaboard from the NY/NJ region as well as SW Florida.
Over the years, the natural progression into leadership roles meant spending time developing teams as well as cultivating systems and processes that are key to successful operations. She believes that true hospitality means making everyone feel at home and will work to help facilite a greater emphasis on the social and hospitality aspect of the club.
Her time in NY/NJ area included stints with NYC’S storied LDV Hospitality, The River Palm Terrace Steakhouse, Park Restaurant Group as GM of multi-unit operations as well as working with NYC Food & Wine Festival and Iron Chef Marc Forgione. In the SW Florida region, she most notably worked for the Tommy Bahama brand as the HR & Events Manager.
Angela is married to Anthony Russo, a Michelin rated Executive Chef, so her passion for culinary excellence is not only on a professional level but a personal one as well. Time away from work includes cooking and entertaining friends and family, traveling, the beach, reading as well as being a dog mom to their two labs, Bailey & Gracie.
Angela is excited to bring her industry knowledge to the NorthStone team and is looks forward to cultivating a service-driven experience for our members while building lasting relationships within the Club.

Tanner Mirt

Tanner moved to the Charlotte area at the beginning of 2022 coming from Columbia, South Carolina. He soon after joined the Northstone team. He has been working in the food and beverage industry since 2009. He has worked at places such as family owned bars and restaurants and nation-wide restaurant concepts. During his time in the industry he has worked various positions starting at bus boy, to a corporate server trainer opening new restaurants, to being a bar manager.
Tanner has a passion for golf and plays as often as he can. He enjoys all sports and roots for Charlotte’s home teams, the Hornets, the Panthers, and the newly minted Charlotte Football Club. When not watching sports, he likes attending concerts and spending time with his two dogs, Jada and Layla.

Mark Hofstetter

Mark is originally from Orange, California and has been married to his wife Tracy for 32 years. They have three children and three grandchildren. Mark took up golf in 8th grade and was hooked. He played all four years of high school and played on a four year scholarship at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he was a two time all American. After college, he played professionally for two years on mini tours. He has a career low round of 60!Mark began working on the club side of golf in 1985 and became a Class A PGA Professional in 1990. He is a member of the quarter century club. Prior to NorthStone, Mark was the Director of Golf at River Run for 7 ½ years, the General Manager at Crowfield Golf and Country Club in Charleston, the Head Professional at Pine Island Country Club for 7 years, and he’s been teaching at the Golf Studio at NorthStone.

Jim Haughey

Jim has been following his passion for promoting the game of golf for almost 30 years which started in his home state of New York, continued to Florida and finally settling here in Monroe, North Carolina in 2001. Jim worked his way up through the PGA ranks from Assistant Pro, to PGA Apprentice and finally, PGA Class A Professional. He worked in a variety of golf course positions which include: Head Teaching Professional, Director of Instruction, Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf. Jim is also an expert golf club fitter and certified with various golf club manufactures. Jim prides himself on the fact that he is always learning and continuously striving to become a better Golf Professional.

Andy Leavelle

Andy Leavelle was born in Long Beach, California and grew up
in Huntington Beach. In his youth he enjoyed baseball, basketball, golf and surfing.
Andy has been playing golf since the age of two as his grandfather and father
got him into the sport. He played junior golf through high school and into his jr
college years at Saddle Back College in Mission Viejo, CA. After graduating
from college, he earned a degree in Professional Golf Management from the
Professional Golfers Career College and is a scratch golfer.
Andy has worked at clubs such as Sea Cliff Country Club in
Huntington Beach and River Run Country Club in Davidson. Andy has been part of our outside operation
since early 2019 and is extremely excited to bring his experience to our inside
professional staff. With a long history in
the industry, Andy looks to provide exemplary service to our membership.

Werner Riemer

Werner earned his PGA membership in 2006, and in 2008 became a Certified Professional in Golf Operation Management and Instruction. His 17-year golf career includes public and private golf clubs throughout Virginia and the Carolinas, including Birdwood Golf Club at the Boar's Head Inn & Resort in Charlottesville, VA; Clemson Walker Course in Clemson, SC; and Quarry Hills Country Club in Graham, NC. During his career, he has held the positions of Head Golf Professional, Teaching Professional, and Assistant Golf Professional. In 2014 he relocated to Hickory with his family for a position with Catawba Country Club. Over the past several years Werner has explored opportunities in the professional world, but returned to the golf industry in 2022 and is currently taking steps to be reinstated as a PGA Member. Originally from Northern Virginia, Werner earned a BS in Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources from George Mason University.

Rodrigo Cagide

Rodrigo was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and finished first in both singles and doubles in 1986. He represented Mexico at the Junior US Open, the Junior Davis Cup, and the Orange Ball Tennis Tournaments. He played for Campbell University on a double tennis and soccer scholarship. He finished his four years at Campbell with a 24-0 singles record and a 23-1 doubles record at the Big South Conference. Prior to joining us at NorthStone Rodrigo was the Tennis Director at the Point Lake & Golf Club in Mooresville from 1999-2013.

Becky Darby
Fitness Director

Becky is originally from Phoenix Arizona and moved to NC with her family 1982. She started working at Northstone over 10 years ago after being an entrepreneur most of her life and was ready to take her part time fitness career to a full time job. She is a Certified Health Coach, Hormone Health Coach, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. She received her training from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC.
Becky started teaching group exercise classes over 25 years ago. That passion led her to become a Personal Trainer and then a Health Coach. She integrates her knowledge as a Personal Trainer with focusing not only on what you eat, but also your lifestyle.
Becky’s clients consist of men, women, young and old but feels she can relate best with women in their 40’s and 50’s. Downtime is spent with her 2 daughters and fiancé.

Emily O'Connor

Emily O’Connor was born and raised in Temecula, California before moving to North Carolina in 2017 to attend Belmont Abbey College. While attending college full-time, Emily worked for Chick-Fil-A for two years, during which time she was recognized for her natural customer service skills and was asked to join the management team. Emily initially pursued a degree in business management but discovered a passion for accounting while taking her first elective and ultimately graduated from Belmont Abbey in 2021with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a minor in accounting.
Following graduation, Emily decided to remain in the Carolinas while embarking on her professional career. She is excited to join the team at NorthStone in a role where she envisions the opportunity to leverage her love for accounting and her customer service skills. In her free time, Emily loves playing golf, being outdoors, and traveling. Emily is excited to meet and serve every member with a smile!
